This was inspired by a trip to the Descanso Gardens with my daughter. They have an Ancient Forest with gorgeously wild plants. Here I was playing with embellishing the leaves after weaving. This is the last weaving I did on the Lani loom (warp left over after Study in Green) with 8EPI. At this point I decided to try warping at 16EPI for more detail. I would like to do a much larger weaving to pay tribute to this beautiful plant.
5” width, 3.5” height
The warp is 12/9 Seine Twine. The weft is a mixture of knitting yarns. I am almost convinced what I read is true. Knitting yarns are just too soft for the weaving I want to do.
